About Warren

I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and have been a psychotherapist for 25 years. Through my private practice, supervision, lectures, groups, and as an Omega Institute staff trainer, I work to transform people's relationship to their lives, and transform the field of psychotherapy. My book, Out of the Box for Life: Being Free is Just a Choice, is based on a process I developed and refined over the past 15 years.

  • Bernie Siegel, who has been referring clients in New York City primarily to me for more than 15 years, has written that he has "complete faith in Warren’s ability and skill."
  • Dr. Lawrence LeShan has called me, "a person of both high technical skill and warm humanity. I recommend him without qualification."
  • I am one of three therapists in the New York City area trained by Dr. John Gray, author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, to present his workshops and accept his referrals.
  • I am also among a small group of therapists referred to by Michele Weiner-Davis, author of Divorce Busting and Fire Your Shrink.
  • Bill O'Hanlon, M.S., author of sixteen books on psychotherapy practice including Love is a Verb, calls the out-of-the-box process "one of the most effective processes" he has ever seen.

Recently, I published the lead article on cancer survivors in "Advances," the premier journal of mind-body medicine, and I have been asked to comment on other feature articles. My doctoral research on cancer survivors has been acknowledged in several articles and books including Remarkable Recovery (1995) by Caryle Hirshberg and Marc Barasch; The Immune Power Personality (1995) by Henry Dreher. My work has also been highlighted in the Institute of Noetic Sciences Review. I have lectured widely, and appeared on many television and radio shows.

My professional memberships include: The Association for Humanistic Psychology, The National Association of Social Workers, The Association for Transpersonal Psychology, and The Foundation for the Advancement of Innovative Medicine.
